Geographical, the vineyard lies between 44°10'- 44°20' North latitude and 28°00'- 28°30' East longitude , on an area of 45 km V-E and on width of 10 km N-S. The characteristic of the vineyard is the predomination of loess deposit and insular form on sarmatic limestone. The loess represents a clay-sand texture in the West side and clay in East an center. Ground category: most of the platform has yellow ground, who prevail in West and central areas and black earth in the East part. On the heavilly eroded grounds there are rendzine. The relief is specific to South Dobrogea plateau and it impose through tabular-structural appearance, wide ondulate on an altitude between 100 and 130 metres. Valley's planes are narrow and they take part localy to vineyard surface. Hydrografy: the vineyard is situated in a shortage area of water. The surface water network is scarce and has a low flow capacity, due to scarce precipitations, fast infiltration and evaporation. Phreatic water from alluvial deposit from slope are at small depth (2-5 metres), and the ones from the base of loess at plateaus or sarmatic plate are at high depths (30-50 metres), so they are difficult to access. The climate is continental, with warm-droughty summers, moderate winters, early springs and late autumns, therefor in our zone is the longest vegetation vineyard period . The annual medium temperature is among the highest in the country (11,3°C at Cernavoda). Our vineyards are situated at Rasova, Cochirleni, Cernavoda. They are placed in Murfatlar vineyard.
